In the 4th Inning Aidan was on the Hill for the Cubs and he did his job with a 9 pitch inning getting a comeback grounder, a fly ball out to Kyle in Left Field and a strikeout to end the Surge half of the inning 3 up 3 down. Cubs had to respond and after a groundout a walk and fielders choice the cubs already had 2 outs when the Sly guy stepped up and roped a double to the left field fence scoring Jacob. In the 5th Aidan was back on the mound after a very impressive 4th inning. Scot took over at SS and made 2 excellent plays at short and fired the ball across the diamond to AB. One of those was on the backhand deeper in the hole and he managed to plant and fire and get the runner at 1st. Unfortunately the Surge managed to hit a few very hard balls. A couple of line drives up the middle to CF. A couple hard ground balls through the infield. They managed to score 8 in the inning before the Cubs could get the 3rd out courtesy of the strikeout by relief pitcher Owen P. In the bottom half of the inning the cubs were out of time, it was now or never and unfortunately they couldn’t get the bat on the ball. They were taking some aggressive swings but 3 strikeouts and a walk was their fate. Cubs fall to Surge.
